Tropical Cyclone from Yamdena Will Affect Northern Australia and Southern Indonesia

JAKARTA, LELEMUKU.COM - Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said on Thursday (15/03) at 18.00 PM has been observed tropical cyclone seeds in the North Timor Sea, precisely about 120 km south of Yamdena Island, West Southeast Maluku Regency, Maluku Province.

According to Deputy of Meteorology, Drs. R. Mulyono Rahadi Prabowo, M.Sc the cyclone are moving at maximum wind speed of about 46 km / h (25 knots) and are expected to move towards the southeast away from Indonesian territory towards the Croker Island, Australia's north on Friday (16/03) afternoon. This condition is expected to strengthen into Tropical Cyclone on Saturday (17/03) morning which moved towards Northwest through Milikapiti, Kimberley region Australia.

If it forms into a tropical cyclone on Friday it will be called Marcus. This condition influences weather patterns in Indonesia, especially on Friday (16/03) with indication of rainfall intensity potential accompanied by lightning or lightning and high winds duration is expected to occur in East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, Nusa Tenggara East, South coast of South and Southeast Sulawesi, and South Papua coast.

In addition, the potential for heavy rain is also expected to occur in other areas of Indonesia, namely in West Sumatra, Jambi, Bangka Belitung, Lampung, Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, Sulawesi Central, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua and West Papua.

High waves of 2.5 to 4 meters are observed in the Banda Sea, the northern waters of Kep. Kai - Aru, Waters Kep.Babar - Tanimbar, Arafuru Sea to the West and East; while high waves of 4 to 6 meters are observed in the western Arafuru Sea, the waters of the Tanimbar Islands, and the southern waters of the Kei and Aru Islands.
