3353 Projects to be Build in West Papua Province

MANOKWARI - The Indonesian Government has agreed to build 3,353 projects proposed by a number of ministries and other government agencies,to be constructed in West Papua Province.

Acting Director General of Regional Development of the Home Affairs Ministry Diah Indrajati said on Friday the projects are launched to speed up regional development.

The ministries and agencies related proposed 8,925 projects to be built by the government in West Papua. The number already discussed and approved is 3,353 projects, Diah said on the sidelines of a meeting on West Papua Development plan here.

She said among the thousands of projects include a hospital in the regency of Manokwari Selatan, to support the Special Economic Zone (KEK) of Sorong that includes the Sorong port, Domine Eduard Osok (DEO) airport, Arar port, betterment of the Aimas Seget ring road, expansion of Sorong Aimas road.

"The results of the meeting would be used to complete the final draft of the working plan of the regional administration," she said. (antara)
