Persipura get a Ticket to Overmatch Bengaluru

JAYAPURA CITY – Persipura Jayapura rose to the top of the table after defeating Singapor’es Warrior FC  6 – 0 in an AFC Cup qualifying match. It is their ticket to Bengaluru India for the next match in May. 

Following instructions by Coach Osvaldo Lessa, Persipura initiated attacking for the first fifteen minutes. But the first goal came at19th minute by defender Bio Pauline.

Persipura continue to exert pressure on Warrior FC and at the 41st minute Ian Kabes doubled the score . Half time ended without additional goals.

On the second half, Coach Lessa kept his strategy instructed the team to oppress their rival. Another goals from Boaz Solossa were created at 53 and 55 minutes.  This is his fourth goal in the competition. Persipura produced two other goals at 58 and 88 through Ian Kabes and Gerard Pangkali. The second half ended with the score 6 – 0.

In regards to the match, FOX TV commentators gave a compliment to Persipura who continuously played aggressive though it won many goals.  They even flattered Persipura midfielder Imanuel Wanggai who always moved in all lines and become a motor of attack for Persipura. This game result is crucial for Persipura to go to the sixteenth round final of AFC. Persipura will depart to Bengaluru and fight for victory in the last game to become the Group E champion.

The opportunity would be widely opened for Persipura if Bengalure defeated by Maziya, Maldives. Bengaluru FC will play the away match against Maziya and still has a chance to win the Group E if it won the last two games. [Jubi]
