Ela Beach Craft Market as Centre of Papuan Cultural

PORT MORESBY - Papua New Guinea is a land of rich and diverse cultures; traditions that are expressed in many different ways-through music and singing, dancing, art, pottery, weaving, among many others.

Gaining popularity over the years, the craft market attracts visitors from far and wide with an array of arts and cultural displays, expertly crafted artifacts, paintings, drawings, woven baskets and bilums, traditional headwear, jewelry, and floriculture, among others on display at the market.

As Port Moresby prepares to host significant events, which include the 2015 Pacific Games and the 2018 APEC Summit, the tourism, arts and cultural sectors are sure to benefit immensely from the influx of visitors expected during these events.
