Wantok Football Club Clinches to all Top Spots

PORT MORESBY - Wantok Football Club proved the better side clinching all the top spots in all divisions after round 2 of the NCD Football Competition.

Wantok beat Buria FC 2-Nill in the U19 division over the weekend.

Wantoks FC in red knows what to expect on field. This showed when they took on Buria FC in yellow in the U19 division playoff.

Buria played close defence eyeing their opponent making sure their territory was safe; Wantoks however managed a goal to half time.

Wantoks came back with a goal to leave Buria trailing scoreless to full time.

Meantime, the competition executives aim to develop raw talent by starting off with an annual youth tournament that will kick off in mid-September.

It is an early preparation for the association to scout talent for a squad for any PNGFA sanction games.

PNGFA President Mrs Kapi Natto said current PNG football playmakers will soon take their leave hence the association needs to develop young talent at an early age.

In the U17 Men playoff, City United in yellow defeated Simla FC 2-nil. Tarangau in Black fanned off Buria 2-nil in the U15 Girls playoff. [EMTV]
